Start-Up Process
Our four stage start-up process is an effective and necessary series of outlined procedures. This four stage start-up process includes the following components:
- Security Site Assessment
- Transition Planning
- Work Environment Training
- Operation Implementation
Stage One: Security Site Assessment
The first stage of the start-up process undertaken is an extensive security site assessment. To ensure that the start-up process is both smooth and efficient we invest a significant amount of time into this initial stage of the transition. Our mission is to guarantee our client’s complete satisfaction; which requires total quality management from day one. The security site assessment is a three phase process. These phases include: Client Consultation, On-Site Walking Tours, and a Security Site Operation Plan.
Client Consultation
Our Security Assessment Director works with your staff to determine which procedures will make the security service transition as easy as possible. In addition we establish our human resource needs by outlining the most effective management strategy for your site. This outline includes the number of guards required to secure the site, the optimal number of supervisors necessary to manage the site effectively, and the potential need for more specialized security services.
On-Site Walking Tours
The Security Assessment Director will tour your site on two separate occasions. The first tour will be conducted during daylight hours, and the second tour will take place during twilight or nighttime hours. The purpose of these On-Site Walking Tours is to familiarize our company with your sites physical layout and topography. Observations obtained during these two tours will be documented and provided to the appropriate client contact in the Security Site Operation Plan.
Security Site Operation Plan
Our security specialists prepare a Security Site Operation Plan for every location our guards are assigned. This is accomplished by the following three step process:
- Security specialists begin writing the Security Site Operation Plan based on the in-depth consultation conducted by our Security Assessment Director.
- The Security Assessment Director and the General Operations Manager confer on specific client requirements, and formulate an operational strategy.
- The On-Site Walking Tour surveys are included into the customized report, and it is then returned to the designated client contact for review and approval.
Stage Two: Transition Planning
After the Security Site Assessment stage is complete, the Transition Planning process begins. The Transition Planning stage consists of three components with-in the start-up procedures process. These components include: Security Guard Uniform Selection, Security Guard Recruitment and Selection, and Classroom Training.
Security Guard Uniform Selection
The purpose of uniform selection is to ensure a professional appearance for all of our clients and their customers. Our clients may influence the appearance and image of our security guards by selecting the uniform style worn on site. Code 3 Security has a variety of uniforms for the client to choose from when establishing the service format. If our clients have special uniform requests, we can design a customized uniform layout for their site. These special requests are regulated by local labor laws and the overall cost of the request. After pinpointing the sites staffing needs and the desired uniform format, sufficient quantities of uniforms are ordered and stored in the local office.
Security Guard Recruitment & Selection
Code 3 Security understands that excellence requires individuals of the highest caliber. Subsequently, we have developed a meticulous interview and selection process. Upon completion of the interview process, only the most qualified individuals who possess the skill sets required by the client are selected for employment.
Classroom Training
Classroom Training begins in our local offices preparing recruits for work at your location. Our state-of-the-art audio/visual learning modules provide important information essential to properly performing future duties. After watching the tutorial modules, employees are required to take quantifiable examinations to measure the retention level of information viewed. Special training required by the client is administered to security guards prior to being assigned to the new security site.
Stage Three: Work Environment Training
These training sessions are conducted on-site and are designed to create a greater understanding of the specific requirements of the assignment. Supervisors choose applicable training sessions from the Training & Development Learning Manual. These training sessions are selected by their direct relation to the components outlined in the Security Site Operation Plan.
For the first 30 days of the delivery of our security service at your location, we saturate the operating system with management expertise from all three levels of field supervision. This heightened level of management presence on the new site is required of the local field management team. This abundance of expertise at the new site is designed to assist security guards with any questions, or unanticipated problems that may arise. In addition, this initial 30 day period is used to confirm the efficiency and accuracy of the Security Site Operation Plan.
Stage Four: Operation Implementation
Today’s highly competitive and cost conscious environment demands the quick and responsible implementation of security service operations. For the first 30 days of service our field supervisors continuously monitor our security guards with announced and unannounced inspections. In addition, our field lieutenants and the general operations manager are available to your representatives twenty-four hours a day.
